If I was in a situation where I had to pick to either buy a Small Faces album or a Rolling Stones album, I would pick Small Faces with no hesitation. Small Faces had better guitar licks and vocals than those assholes who thought the were the greatest band ever in rock n'roll history. Rolling Stones to me are a very mediocre 60s band. They tried to compete with the Beatles in the charts but they didn't stand a chance.
I would do a whole rant on The Rolling Stones but lets get back on topic about the debut album from the Small Faces. Small Faces came out during the prime of the British Invasion. Its a shame they never got to set foot in American soil because of drug problems. I really think they could of been very successful. They had many hits in the British Charts including my personal favorite, "What'cha Gonna Do About It". If you like garage rock in general, you will love this song.
For me, a lot of the songs of Small Faces are very asscessible for anyone. Its a very fun album with catchy tunes that will get stuck in your head for days. Better than the Rolling Stones for sure. Allmusic refers them as, "The best English band never to make it big in America."
