Out Like Lambs - Bygones EP (Self-Released, 2009)

The second I saw this in my mail box I snatched it as if it were the last slice of cake at a party, even though I had no idea who the group was. Out Like Lambs are a band from Ocean Grove, New Jersey that make a very calm and at ease type of folk music that just about anyone can get into.

To start things off, this deserves a nice headphone listen because this is very very well-produced, certainly by today's standards. And for folk, they definitely stand out from all the other bands. The songs would begin with something as simple as an acoustic guitar, then progress into an entire choir of instruments, all playing different notes. Even when there are about 20 instruments present, the music is still very calm. Even though this is just 25 minutes, you could feel like you just sat in a church listening to this for hours.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys folk or just wants a chill-out experience. Don't listen to just a couple tracks from the EP, listen to it all. The songs all melt together into one track even though it may be unintentional.
