Jeff The Brotherhood are two brothers. Jake and Jamin Orall. Together they make psychedelic grunge and release their music under their family owned label, Infinity Cat. Now, I've been a huge fan of these dudes since 2007 and I can honestly say that their new album Heavy Days is probably my favorite album they've ever released.
The 9 tracks on Heavy Days are insanely catchy-as-fuck. The first time I listened to it, I turned the speakers as high as they could go. I'm sure I pissed off my neighbors but y'know, if it's too loud then you're too old. "Bone Jam" is without a doubt, the best track off the album. I'm really glad that they've been getting a lot of hype now. Not too long ago, they were mentioned in Entertainment Weekly! If you feel that 2009 wasn't a good year for music, go out and buy Heavy Days. I guaranteed you will love it.

Shit! stop saying it was a bad year for music because it's not the god dammit case. Your point is completely incongruous and useless! Did you hear every heavy shit independent or unknown artists have done this year? Me I don't and i think it's the same way for you. So keep your immoderate remarks for your and only speak about what you heard.
ReplyDeleteIt's just I can't bear anymore hate. It's a crappy year as usual, not musically but overall. No more and no less! That's all.
Don't want to offense anybody just need to make clear some points.
Good night
I see what you're saying, but the reviews we write are opinions. We're not saying it was a bad year, we're saying it was a bad year TO US. That's why Alisa said "If you feel that 2009 wasn't a good year for music..." We don't like to make assumptions, but we thought that most of our readers would understand why we didn't like 2009 music-wise, considering that statement was a theme that was prominent in all of our reviews.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to set you off, but if you thought that 2009 was as bad as any other year, look at '08, only a year's difference and there wasn't a huge trend that took over the blogosphere, forcing music to lack originality.
When i said "It's a crappy year as usual" I wanted to say that life, existence or whatever you call it, is the same old circle. I don't put your reviewer's skills in question because I like the way you work. It was just a general-purpose or rather a universal reflection, not only focused on music.
ReplyDeleteI can't judge a whole, I only judge what i see and it's enough for my person.
Kind and Best Regards
Matthias
How incredibly bleak of you.
