Although, I'm not big on Anticon's catalog (Why? in particular) I wasn't very tempted to get this from what I've read. I mean, I'm not really a fan of rap in general with the exceptions of (MF) DOOM, Quasimoto, and Tes (I've only listened to Tes once) but I found out later on that this was instrumental which made me think, "Great! Now I don't have to be bothered by 'dem coo rhymes'" in the songs. So, I listened and was happily pleased.
T.I.M.E Soundtrack was, obviously, a soundtrack made for the skateboarding film entitled "This Is My Element" created by the Element skateboard company. I've seen a few skateboard films via my uncle, and I'd say they're all pretty cool soundtrack-wise. I even saw a skating video with Black Eyes' "Deformative" playing the background. I can imagine T.I.M.E. with this soundtrack fitting in perfectly.
The songs range from more obscure hip-hop beats to more ambient-focused fillers. The melodies are what were surprising about this. It's difficult to make songs with field recordings, but it's possible to find a rhythm or even a melody in a field recording (ex: Secret Mommy's Very Rec) and Odd Nosdam executes it perfectly using guitar samples, complex beats and textures. He even has noise sympathy when using some heavy and fuzzy drones. This album can pretty much be used any way dealing with outdoor activities but it's not really something to sit down and focus on. Don't try to decipher it; just let it be the OST of your life as it goes.
Overall, I'd recommend it to fans of any kind of hip-hop or electronica. T.I.M.E. is a 30 minute composition with 13 tracks that will leave you with both energy and relaxation.
