Spoon. We all know 'em. If you don't know them, they're a what you call "indie rock" band that has gradually received more and more press along with their sound gaining more mainstream and commercial sounds. Their three song single Got Nuffin makes a statement showing that the band will never be as commercial as many people make them out to be. It's their most recent effort since their 2007 release Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. That album seemed like their most commercial release and probably their most disappointing, ergo it didn't gain as much popularity as Kill The Moonlight.
Got Nuffin starts off with its title track. It's the good ol' Spoon sound; upbeat but still obtaining its mild obscurities. I can't really describe the song piece-by-piece. It's just poppy yet forgettable. Nothing catchy but still decent. "Tweakers" is the next song. It's badly recorded and damaged track, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. A damaged drum loop repeating and meandering throughout. There's also a weird gargling noise... I think it's Britt Daniel. It definitely sounds like a filler track but I find this to be one of the highlights of Got Nuffin. It fades into "Stroke Their Brains"; a less upbeat melody along with some freaky guitar effects riffing in the midst. It's a definite must-have for any Spoon fan.
